For as long as anyone can remember Denton has been an incubator of talent for artists and musicians. Produced by the Denton Festival Foundation, the Denton Arts & Jazz Festival emerged from this incredible pool of both professionals and amateurs.

Every April over 75,000 people travel to Denton to experience the cool sounds , the diverse entertainment, the hot jazz, and all of the talent that has made Denton a hot bed of artistic inspiration.

Het achtste dOeK Festival geeft een overzicht van de stand van zaken in de internationale improvisatiemuziek. dOeK overschrijdt de grenzen tussen landen en genres, met dit jaar zowel akoestische als elektronische muziek, zang, dans, installatiekunst, turntablism en een familiemiddag rond de liedjes van Misha Mengelberg. Met musici en kunstenaars uit Europa, Japan, Rusland, Brazilië en de Verenigde Staten.
